Yeah well, I dont need it to be Ricer weak. I need it to actually be FUNCTIONAL! The dam stockers are going to be tucked in WAY to far. If something DOES happen that I get stuck somewhere, I dont need my bumper to get ripped....

That one isn't long enough to connect to secure frame, man. There's a reason why the stock loop is so far back ... because that's how far back the frame starts. The one in that picture is connected to another piece which is connected to the frame.

hmm because I kinda spun into this wet dirt land and towing it from the back will require the car to travel through about 50 ft of the stuff so...from the front is definately a logical choice at the time.... hmmm that reminds me, for some reason I have no rear tow hooks!!!

hes saying that THAT peice that you see is connected to some other peice that goes BACK further to the frame.....not sticking out further. you have to have a tow point from the frame thereby the need for a long peice just to get it so its at a point in the mouth of the bumper

Yeah REAL smart move here ESPECIALLY when the rear is lifted high enough to make the front bumper scrape the ground :rolleyes:

Naaa. I just took a good look at them. BOTH front tow hooks are bolted directly to the frame.

Yeah, that extension is what you need to mount those aftermarket ones. I'm not sure what the one in the original photo is attached to, but I hope it's not the flexie sheetmetal bar running behind the bumper reinforcement that has one of the horns attached to it (passenger side). That bar isn't structurally worth a shit, but to be coming out centrally like that it seems that's where it is. You need to attach the aftermarket tow hook on one of the main frame bars that runs the length of the car ... it will come out in between the central air duct (radiator ... FMIC, etc.) and an oil cooler duct. Well, I'm not gonna say that you "need" to do that because it is your car and your frame to bend, but I suggest you put it on one of the main beams running the length of the car alongside the base of the motor.

And look at old photo's of Adam's car and I think he's got a tow hook coming out from a similar location as well. I just wanted to make sure that everything is clear. You'll need that long piece to get to the secure frame. And if you look at the two pieces, that's really the only place that it could go -- as designed.

Here's a better pic of it. Remember that the stock bumper's mouth hangs pretty low. With the Feed, the loop may not even need a long extension, but I really wont know how much space I have to play with until I get the bumper. You can see it is directly attached to the chassis.

Uhhh ... yeah ... that's the stock one. What's your point? And the aftermarket one should be attached deep on that beam ... what's your point? That's what I've been saying the whole time. But in the first picture that you posted to start this thread of the aftermarket loop, that loop is clearly coming from high and inside the middle of the mouth, suggesting that it is attached to a stupid place like the sheetmetal bars across the front that has a horn on it.

I don't get it, if the stock tow bar gets attached there, then why can't you attach a aftermarket one in the same spot?? Instead it has to get connected to one of the sub-frame rails because it's aftermarket??:confused:
