Front ends that fit, with big rad openings?
I am in the UK and ant to buy a 1993 FD front end with a big rad opening to allow better cooling for track usage. It would help if it was light, too. I don't suppose anyone does a Urethane one like the stock? Mazda no longer seem to list the GTC front end, which I fancied might fit properly on their mazdamotorsports.com web site. Is it discontinued? What else (no replicas, had BAD BAD experience with these) will fit as well as the stock front? It's purely for track work, needn't look pretty, just be functional and fit as stock, ie, perfectly.
What about a bonnet (hood)? Something with vents to extract rad air well forward of bonnet mid line? Again the Mazdasport hood looked OK, I am now looking at Pan Speed stuff, but shipping something that big from Japan to UK will be horrendously dear. Any hood suggestions? Thanks. |
Have you checked out the 99 front end, or is the intake not big enough?

I'm 40. I test drove my friends in 1993. In 1994 I was going to buy one but my wife told me that we would have to make sacrifices.
I'm divorced now. Sacrifice was right. Marige is 50/50. She gets the house you get the payments. She gets her car you get the payments. Well, I at least got my FD last year. |
Thats what happens after too many beers. I posted to the wrong post

There is a company here in Japan called TBO, there bumpers are fairly cheap and you will want the FD3S Type II version, It has massive flow to the cooling system, great ducting to the oil coolers and 1 round duct on each side that you can use to run clothes dryer piping to the front brake rotors... should be exactly what you need...
http://www.geocities.com/yellowfd3s/index.html It's the bumper that is on IGY's car... an sells for I think 69,000yen |
fornt end
Try pettit racing , they have the biggest front bumper radiator openning I have seen, they used it in their racing car, the other one is the one is used for the amemiya race car, but I don't now if they sell it to the public, you can find pettit at www.pettitracing.com

Also if you remove/modify the air splitter you can just strech out the stock urethane cover to get a 3"-4" Deeper opening.

Get the C-west kit, it has a huge FMIC / Rad opening and big openings for the oil coolers. I think you can get it in FG or CF....depends on your wallet size.
