friend buying 3rd gen. Need advice ASAP

Im going to look at it today. I usually use the 2nd gen because I have an 89GXL but know nothing about the 3rd as far as troubleshooting. Heres the scoop.

94 74,000 body kit intake exaust. Car started fine a few days ago. No smoke but after he shut it down it will not start back up. Wile cranking it will blow black smoke. THis might be oil burning but dont know. How can I get the car started tomorow (tricks).? Common sense tells me that since it wasnot driven with blown engine for too long that he will only need a partial rebuild wich SHOULD cost less than 2g for bearing seals and springs and keep the old rotors and housings.

He is selling the car for 7g by the way.

How much for a partial?

How can I get it started incase it might of been just a carboned seal or something besides the ATF?

Have I mentioned that some people should be picked from the earth by the hands of god and dropped into the endless pits of hell's infierno? Huh? Have I?

Get a clue buddy!

The best way to get help is not to insult people. So did this guy tell you the engine was blown or not?

I doubt this is it because it started fine a few days ago, but is it flooded? Pull the plugs and take a look at them to see if they are soaked in gas or not , if they are then take a lighter and burn the gas off of them, or try new ones. This usually happens to my car if I let it sit for a while, and I usually end up replacing the plugs. Just because it's a 3rd gen doesn't mean it's an alien space craft and you need special guidance to figure problems out. As for the black smoke coming out of the exhaust before it's even started, I have never heard of that.

Hey PISTON PETE I don't know of what relegion you are but no matter which one it is,you never spell God with a lower case "G".It's always capitalized. As a believer in God I am offended. And ROTARY KNIGHT is right, If the motor is blown it's not gonna be 2K.

That might of been mispelled. I meant 3000. My complete rebuild cost 2300 for new everything including shaft. This was done by a factory trained mechanic whos been doing it all his life. So I thought 3000 might be close for one with a turbo. I mean internally the 3rd gen isnt that different from a series 5.

I checked out the car today. It was real funny. They jacked the price up to 12,000 because they got it started. Didnt blow smoke they said. Just flooded. They got the car cheap at an auction. Anyways we did NOT see the car start earlier that day. So we said lets see it start. If it doesnt start then we go to your original offer. After 3 hours they agree. Yes THEY agreed. They said give us an hour and we will have it started gauranteed. The guy said it just floods and we have to push start it and it was behind a bunch of cars. So before we took dinner break I checked under the hood with another guy pretending I new what I was talking about wile sneaking out the EGI fuse. Came back from break and they said.....Ok do u have the 7 grand.....We were so happy until after he got the money they jacked up the price to 8900 because the car was not smogable. So without ? we just left. We are going to call every day to ask them if the deal is still on because theirs no way that piece is going to sell.
