Found some high-res photos of Scoot 4-Rotor...also it's for sale.
I'm making a list of rotary shops I want to visit while I'm in Japan next month.
Came across this for sale listing for the famous Scoot NA 4-rotor w/ the Tamon Design body... Here's the for sale ad: http://www.scoot.ico.bz/product3.html Translated link: http://translate.google.com/translat...Fproduct3.html Here's the page with some really nice high-res photos of the 4-rotor short block, e-shaft, engine bay, engine breakdown, exhaust system, etc. http://www.scoot.ico.bz/product1.html Translated link: http://translate.google.com/translat...Fproduct1.html Cheers!:icon_tup: |

Wow.

kind of curious when you are planning on going to Japan? A few friends of mine are planning a trip for the end of March.
What areas are you planning on visiting? I have been a few times over the years but my other friends are not all that interested in cars like me lol. A few years back we made it out to Re amemiya which was a really long taxi ride from narita airport but worth it. Only other places we were able to visit were a place called Garage-R in Kyoto which was easy to get to by subway and had a lot of nice 7's for sale to look at. Also made it to a used parts store called I-parts. If the trip does happen I am trying to map out some things but it's always a pain because unless you have a car or something that is local it's a bit hard to find a few places. James |
You cant forget the RE amemiya shop and stillway.
|
mind sharing your list? my moms getting sent to hong kong to work for the next 6 months so when i go visit im gonna hit up japan too!
|
Visit the Knightsports guys. Nicest guys around for sure and they took me for a spin on the street in their circuit yellow FD. I visited RE Amemiya, Knightsports, FEED, R Magic and a couple others. FEED is outside Osaka though.

Best tip I got from Tom when I was there is to use Hyperdia to figure out your best train route to any of the shops: http://www.hyperdia.com/en/
It'll tell you the best method of transfer to get you closest to any address. For FEED, it was about a $30 taxi ride from the JR station (but the FEED guys were awesome enough to give us a ride back to the station after) http://www.majhost.com/gallery/jrsch22a/japancar/16.jpg When I went a few years back, we hit up RE Amemiya, Panspeed, Top Secret, Spoon, Garage Kagotani, FEED, Nikko Circuit, handful of Autobacs and Up Garages....would have loved to have had time to drop by for Knightsports, R-Magic, and Amuse as well. |
Thanks for the link, we always tried using google maps which kinda works but not always.. We will be going to Osaka -> Kyoto -> Tokyo so hopefully make it by Feed while in Osaka.
How hard is it to get to Nikko Circuit? We went to Nikko just to sight see but we got there late in the day and ran out of time for much. Thanks, James |
Like the four-rotor. But the car.....not so much.

The body looks like it overhangs way too much. |
I'm in Osaka right now. But were going back to Ohio tomorrow. Didn't get to visit any tuners this time. But we go once or twice a year to visit family. So, next time I'll make sure we visit some of the tuners. I'll be bringing some money also :)
