What dont you like about the HKS intake?

Personally I dont like how the filter element goes on. I will getting some Apexi intakes soon, because the filter element is sealed off.

If you do plan on keeping your HKS intakes, check out the RX7fashion Apexi core. It looks like it will work ok with the HKS and Apexi intakes. If you get the Greddy 2-row, then your HKS wont fit, but I hear the Apexi intakes will fit with some slight modification.

Most people like GReddy or Apexi IC with Koyo or Fluidyne Radiator and any air filter will do.

I picked the rx7fashion fmic because it leaves the radiator, p/s lines, and a/c in place, you don't have to touch them. The engine bay is left really simple and uncluttered.

However you do have to remove a portion of the frame in the front of the car.

But the fmic now actually becomes the structural replacement of the piece.

Whoa!!! that is great news TTT. One thing I did not like about going with an FMIC is that you have to go vertical with your radiator. Good to know that you dont have to do that with the RX7 fashion. I think that I am set on getting an RX7fashion Apexi IC then.

I dont mean to whore on explods thread, but I just wanted to make sure of a few things. Where can I get that IC? I checked www.rx7fashion.com but there seems to be some trouble with the site. Did rx7ashion go out of business or something? where can I get this FMIC new?

EDIT: is RX7 Fashion actually Ricks Rotary?

Thanks

DOUBLE EDIT: n/m I browsed around on the rx7fashion site, and found that they are actually Ricks Rotary. The RX7 Fashion FMIC is advertised at $1799 BTW.

Heya guys,

I had a question for TTT or anybody that has installed the RX7fashion FMIC.

I was looking at the pics in jrx7's link and I was wondering, how hard is it to remove the bar that the IC pipes go through? It looks like jrx7 just cut through the rivets to remove the bumper bar. I am assuming they are rivets that hold the bar in place since they were cut instead of unscrewed.

So does anyone know how this is done?

Thanks
