FMIC and bigger radiator, what do you all think about this idea

Does anyone the FMIC mounted with a bigger radiator such as koyo??? From the different pics I have seen of peoples' engine bay and from the angle that the stock radiator sits, is there a fitment issue? I'm about to pull my radiator for a bigger one (a couple of people on the board recommended the koyo radiator) and I want to mount a FMIC kit.

I was also wondering it anyone has tried top mounting the radiator w/ hood scoops and installing a FMIC? I saw a kit somewhere (I believe rotaryextreme) that sold a top mount IC, but using a radiator instead and mounting fans underneath to pull in air

The idea is a sound and valid one that works. With the FMIC you have more room to fit a bigger radiator.

does anyone sell a top-mount radiator kit?

Also, for just the standard FMIC kit, would the FMIC sit on top portion of the radiator or is there room between the top of the radiator and the frame of car?

FMICs either sit in front of the cross member and have no affect on the radiator mounting, or behind and require the radiator to be more verticle and thus affects it installation. Depends on the brand.

what brands of FMIC mount to the front of the member? Would the 94 stock bumper mount to it and would there need to be cutting? Is it a basic bolt-on?

Stock bumper will fit, you will have to cut the bumper about 2 inches to clear the IC, it does sit in front of member. For radiator, it has to be moved to a vertical position, to clear the IC pipes.

They say its a "bolt on" but not really, have to notch here and there, cut there and here, move this here, get rid of that, what the hell is this?? :-P

This is a GReddy FMIC kit w/ a coolradiator.com racing radiator with 55mm thick core

You need to run a WEB search for FD FMICs, and then ask the vendors or retailer those questions. Or make a direct question on this forum or SINGLE forum for those answers.

I have the Blitz FMIC, it fits behind the CM and thus the RAD is more verticle and closer to the engine.

I'm running a Greddy FMIC with the Koyo rad and it fits pretty well. The ic is way in the front of nose. Definitely not a quick bolt on...
