Flywheel differences - need help asap

I ordered a XTC flywheel from ebay, the flywheel that arrived has a very large center hole too big for the large nut to hold it. Now that i goback and look some FD flywheels have smaller hole others have bigger hole i cant figure out whats going on. I took my flywheel out but my factory flywheel doesnt look to have a counterweight. I have posted pictures of my factory flywheel and the aftermarket one i received. Can someone tell me why there are two different designed fhttps://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rx7...45bb6d611c.jpg

lywheels for FD?

Looks like they are different design because (obviously) the aftermarket pictured doesn’t have the counterweight. The FD flywheel should have a cast/integrated counterweight on the back side. IIRC they are then drilled on the edges to balance.

All OEM manual flywheels have an integrated counterweight, to install any aftermarket lightweight flywheel you need an automatic rear counterweight. Bottom of the page ACT Flywheel (93+ RX-7)

And I recommend getting an auto counterweight from a knowledgeable source like above. Visually there isn’t a lot of difference between the FD counterweight and the earlier FC’s. But the FC shouldn’t be used.

When going with a lighter flywheel than OEM, it's common sense to have a counterweight to balance out the rotating assembly. Which is the piece you're missing.

I wouldn't call it common sense since nothing about rotary engines is intuitive. However I WOULD call it very well documented. Such is the challenge in buying anything from eBay. A lack of (1) documentation and (2) post-sales support.

This is not the seller's fault. They sold a light weight flywheel, it's not their job to educate the buyer on exactly what else may or may not be needed. How would they know you are going from stock to this or just replacing a flywheel that you already have a counterweight for?

If you are too lazy to do research, but from a place like banzai or IRP or Pettit, call them first, and they will tell you exactly what you need before you buy it. If you don't want to do research, but from a specialist that has customer service.

I just wanted to chime in that you have made a POOR choice in parts. XTD is not a good quality part, and several steps below what should be considered for our cars.

Banzai can hook you up with a quality setup from a reputable brand andit is worth every penny.
