fluidyne radiator

anyone having or had problems with fitting the fans onto the fluidyne radiators?

adam c 10-21-04 03:22 PM

I had to trim the fan shroud slightly to get around the upper radiator hose opening.

after upgrading your radiators .. did you notice a big difference in under hood temps? like before if i turned on my heat or let the vents cycle in fresh air .. my car would be hot as balls ... but now i blast the heat up all the way and it barely keeps me warm .. also im noticing my cars idling higher than before .. before it was 7500 but now its about 8500 should the radiator affect my idle rpms?

Holy crap. . . .. do you mean 750 rpms, then 850 rpms? If not, then I do reccomend you check to see if you're throttle cable is stuck somewhere. . . . . ;)

Back on topic, I don't recall seeing an increase in my RPM's, but have had a Fluidyne for a while now.

RedBaronII 10-21-04 10:41 PM

No RPM increase or fitment problems, maybe you have a Fakedyne. :D

I too had fitment issues with my Fluidyne. I had to trim a fair amount of the fan shroud to get it to fit under the upper hose neck, and the mounting holes were not flush with the body work. Also had to trim the lower mounting tabs to keep them from chewing through the oil cooler lines. This was the second Fluidyne I had, the first was shipped all bent up. I needed a rad, so I just made the mods to make it fit. Looked a LOT like the welder was playing fast and loose with the welding jig, and didn't get all the mounting points lined up correctly. Maybe this is the problem? For the price, I'd bitch about it, get something that fits, unless you NEED to drive the car..

Perfect fit for me

Sonny 10-22-04 12:54 AM

Are you sure you got a fluidyne? Maybe you got a wannabe-fluidyne. Where'd you buy it?

Sonny
