Flloded FD

I flooded my FD and now it won't start. I did this a couple times before in my FC but was able to get it running again by using WD-40. I can't do that trick with the FD due to it's turbo setup. Can someone post a link to where they have instructions on how to unflood the car?

let it sit there for a while and try again.

search for the "ATF trick"

you can just let it sit for a while. or you can crank it with the gas pedal fully depressed. this will crank without injecting fuel. or you can clean the plugs and put some atf in there. trust me the search will turn up a million good things.

Thanks guys. I got some WD-40 and sprayed it it repititions into the intake via a vacuum hose. Had to get someone to turn it over for me while I operated the throttle and WD-40 can :)

Make that 1002 uses ;)

I flooded my new engine hard a few times due to injectors dumping fuel (leaking). Had to pull the plugs, pull the ign, pull the fuel pump fuse, turn it over, put new plugs in connect everything back up and she fired right up. (sucks doing that on a 30 degree evening in the parking lot @ work so you can drive her home).

Dang...that's alot of work nocab72...I just rolled mine down a hill, compression start it and voìla!

Guess that only works if you are at the top of a hill though :p:

basically the ATF trick is taking out the plugs and the fp fuse, turning it over the motor, putting a teaspoon of ATF in each plug hole, reinstalling the plugs, turning it over again, reinstalling the fuse, and cranking her up. Don't let it die and it will smoke like a motha' but once it clears out she should be running great!

My plugs were literally dripping with fuel, I don't think even the down-the-hill-pop-the-clutch would have started it! Not a condition a healthy FD with properly working injectors would ever see...
