flatline beep when key is turned to on postion
hey guys, I'm having a flatline beep about 5 seconds after I turn the key to the on position.. I recently drained oil and coolant and installed a single setup and filled everything back up. Now the thing is when i take the two grounds on the wiring harness off the back of the UIM it stops.. has anyone ever heard this flatline beep, and what is causing it?

may want to top off your coolant, I believe the level sensor is in the overflow tank... Thats the only flatline beep I know of.
|
lights are on... lol no i dont know though, but good luck

Thanks for the info...I kinda figured that's what it was, but I wanted to make sure. I still need to top off the coolant and get all air out of it then I'll see where i stand. It freaked me out hearing a flatline beep like that lol..

First time I started up mine, I had air bubbles, temp went up to 150C, and beeping occured, and I wanted to cry because I thought I killed her.
Luckily, the sensor was surrounded by 150C air, not coolant... engine never got that hot. GOod luck |
well its not a coolant issue.. any ideas?
|
did you check for a CEL?
|
if its the low coolant level buzzer then top off the coolant....if its good then either the wire is damaged or the sensor is busted. and btw the sensor is the bolt with the black wire sticking out of it on the thermostat housing.
I dont think my car has ever buzzed for any other reason. |
i'm having the same problem. fluids are topped off, never had this problem before i did my single conversion either. if the grounds on the back of ur UIM makes a difference, then that means you are missing ground hook-ups (or have bad connections) because the circuit for the sensor should still be closed until ALL of the grounds are disconnected

Update: Beep was coming from CPU #2. I unplugged the middle plug and the beep stopped. I am going to check over it more in the next couple of days .

if the red coolant light is on then its probably a broken wire to the coolant level sensor, try grounding the brown with white stripe wire on the harness that is on the driver side right behind the compressor. that should take care of your problem

what kind of coolant are you guys using. i have the same beep and i have to top it off, definately low.

Does your beeping start right away or does it come on after a bit. My coolant buzzer always seemed to have a delay before it started going off.
