Fixing Coolant Level Sensor
Alright, so I finally got around to ordering my coolant level sensor from Ray at Malloy Mazda. I should get it tomorrow. Wish I bought it a couple of weeks ago. It is getting warm in Chicago, and I am dying to pull the 7 out of the garage from it's winter slumber.
Anyway, should I put some teflon tape around the sensor before I install it or is the o-ring that comes with the sensor sufficient? The only reason I ask is because the sensor is made of plastic (poor design in my opinion) and I don't want to screw the threads up installing it. |
Nope....just dont overtighten it and you should be fine.

What he said - the threads are not designed to seal. The o-ring is.
