first thing to make a new rx7 faster

If I hhave a normal, stock rx7 twin turbo, what is the first major thing to make it faster and more powerful?

Rx-7pl 03-03-04 04:19 PM

put type r stickers all over
it should give you 50+hp easily

Spend the next few months reading the archives, the newbie sticky, and this forum. Until then, leave it alone.

faster and more powerful?....first thing to do is "learn about the car"...ignorance will make it the slowest car on the road....

Actually, ignorance will kill it.

A downpipe is a good first mod. That was mine. Gives ~10-15 hp, gets rid of the "nuclear" reactor pre-cat and also helps the turbos to spool faster.

20B conversion!!

NukeGenius 03-03-04 04:53 PM

Learn how to drive a car like this properly will be the easiest way to get it to go faster. I'm not saying you aren't a good driver (I dont even know you). But everybody knows that the driver makes the difference.

Downpipe first for power.

Downpipe first, then do the rest of the reliablilty mods. Search the stickies to find out what they are.

trik7 03-03-04 05:24 PM

buy a workshop manual and learn about the car before you do anything

1QWIK7 03-03-04 05:45 PM

yeah, before you even touch the car, let alone add or remove anything from it, read ALOT about the car first

it'll save you the headaches later
