420 on stockers???? i dont think so. . . most people that break the big 4-0-0 on stockers reach about 405 or something like that. he more than likely had upgraded twins. just because its sequential doesnt mean its stock!!!!!. . . . OR he lied about what he has under the hood. . . either of those are likely when you mention his name.

Those numbers are flywheel numbers. It's making about 380rwhp.

besides Boosted7 has gotten 405hp on stock twins so y dont you think peter farrell can get 420. car & driver article dont lie (they test them)

brake horsepower and wheel horsepower are not the same.....so assuming a 15% drivetrain loss, he is only making around 357rwhp, which plenty of people have made.

boosted7's 405 was rwhp. The article is BHP which is basically flywheel HP.

well how the hell does car and driver test the horsepower. cause i know they do something like a dyno??? or maybe something else

like just about everyone has stated, look at the chart....compare the hp numbers across the same row....first row 255 (bhp) well what do you know its the manufacturers claimed engine hp. I doubt they tested it and came up with 255 on the nose on a dyno. Then it goes 360 bhp, something Peter's web site claims on 14 psi, but again it's engine output hp and I doubt they tested it quite frankly. Same with the 420 number, its engine output hp, not to the wheels...like everyone has been trying to tell you from the beginning.

The 1/4 mile time looks right, but a 0-60 time of 3.8 seconds? DAMN. Anyone else have #s like that??

BTW, if you want pics of the IMSA car, I could prob snap a few the next time I run by Ray @ PFS. The car's sitting there. Freakin AMAZING. I'm 99.99% sure it wasn't a consumer production car either. The first 100 or 120 so FD's made were used for corporate purposes, advertising, etc. This IMSA car has VIN # 22! :eek: Seen it myself!

Yeah, there have been quite a few FD's hit 400rwhp with the stock twins, it's nothing new. I don't think I've ever heard of anybody doing it with the sequential setup though.

I'm pretty confident I pushed past that mark while tuning with Steve Kan a couple months back. Spiked to around 19psi on a few runs with the stock twins running non-seq, however, boost wasn't stable at all. The wastegate will need to be ported.

You can definitely tell that the stock twins really start to run out of steam at around 16/17psi though.

I dynoed with 350 rear wheel hp on stock sequential twins = 400 flywheel on a Mustang dynometer. Its certainly dooable as a few of us have done it abeilt with all the bolt ons :)

what is that peter ferrrel super car, and what is so speaical about the engine in that car. my 7 is a rebuild. and the perivous owner stated that the engine was out of a peter ferrell super car. does that mean anything.??? and how do you ID the engine. ??

This is what I posted on Aussie forum, our DD dyno's read 14% lower than your dynojets, I am making 400 to 410 bhp @ engine.

Below are recorded performance data with mild take off (slowish 0-100km time).

Everything is possible I guess, but it is a bit of a streach. I highly doubt it but hey I would be really impressed if so.

My car weight posted before was incorrect, checked today on 4 different sets of scales and with driver & fuel as tested ready to run it comes in at 1340kg or 2955lb in your language, you can derive the power from that if you wish :)

Its quick... stock twins & engine make plenty of power.

The first 100 cars in 1993 were pre-production models... so the production vins start at 100.

btw ramy, the first ten, #100-109 were all CYM. Mine is #106, and I know the guy who owns #102 :)

Back on topic: 400hp on stock twins is damn impressive! Although I'm assuming they were talking about bhp and now fwhp... wonder how long the twins would hold? not long i assume
