Finally started after 3 years...
 

After 3 Long Years, I finally got my FD to fire last night. It was only for a few seconds, but it fired up. Wondering what I should do before trying to start again. Should I lubricate anywhere? Any recommendations would be helpful.

Well just make sure all the fluids are topped off, and double check all the parts you worked on to make sure everything is tight. Before driving it, id recommend warming it up right there and revving the engine to see if any problems arise once it warms up, so that way you would find out there instead of on the road. besides that you should be fine.

Inspect your coolant. Put in fresh new coolant. FDs run hot.

Oil change.

Let the car warm up nicely before you go for it.

I'm saying this based on my experience when my FD has been idle for a while.

damn, where have you been? I had mine sitting around a couple years but that's because I blew the motor and was too busy and lazy to pull the motor out

You can always add some MMO into the spark plug holes if you are worried about lubrication. It will smoke for a minute when started up but it will clear shortly after being started.

I would also check over your engine harness, check for cracks or wires that might break if bent at all. 3 years of sitting is a long time and can make things brittle.

Make sure your calipers are not seized up, and your brakes wheels can rotate without any drag.

Pretty much just go over everything and flush all fluids, drain out the old gas if there is a lot. Im sure your injectors could use a good cleaning.

Check oil. If full, run it up to operating temp once or twice before changing with a new filter. Check your plugs, but if they look good, keep them. Driving it around the block a few times, keep close to home at first...check brakes, tires etc.
No huge hurry, but change out the coolant as soon as practical.

Actually changing out all the fluids, transmission, diff and brake fluid wouldn't be a bad idea after sitting that long. If your comfortable driving to Bellevue, PM me if you want to put it on my lift. Make it easy to do eveything except maybe flush the brake system.....I don't have a Motive system yet.
