Finally, I own a 3rd-gen. RX-7!!! Here she is:

Finally, after all my hard work and perseverance, I finally have a 3rd-gen. RX-7 in the garage. She's not in perfect shape, but I will mend all that once she's paid-off. I spent several hours yesterday giving her a bath and cleaning all the gunk out of the engine-bay. Here's a few pics of her sexy-ass:

Here's some pics from when I brought her to work:

Stephen C 04-16-06 01:11 PM

Thanks, bro. I work at a Mazda-dealership; that it the service-bay.

Stephen C 04-16-06 01:17 PM

I payed $10,900 for her. She has 104,K miles.

jfxp 04-16-06 01:27 PM

Nice! Looks like shes in good hands. May I ask what your going to "mend"?

ehos 04-16-06 01:33 PM

Do her justice, drive it.

Stephen C 04-16-06 02:21 PM

She will definately be driven, though not in the rain or snow.

Stephen C 04-16-06 02:24 PM

I plan on installing a Veilside bodykit and alumnium wing, and sticking some "tribal" graphics on her!

....... Yeah right, just kidding! :D ;)

I dont see why everyone hates the veilside kit so much. I mean...the front bumper is ugly as hell but the sides and back look pretty nice to me.

Stephen C 04-16-06 03:15 PM

I just don't like any bodykits on an RX-7, or on any rare/classic car for that matter. I think Mazda's engineers knew what they were doing when they designed the RX-7. If I were to ever do exterior modifications, I would do the '99-spec facelift and maybe the old-school RE-Amemya diffuser, but that's it.

Where in KY are you?

i don't like most bodykits so i agree, my favorite one is the '99 spec. by-far the best one EVAR, but i think it needs the '99 spec. spoiler with it

While you'r e working on her, educate some of your buds.

Scrub 04-16-06 08:10 PM

your license plate is sexy.

Tim Benton 04-16-06 08:51 PM

Nice ride. I'm in the same boat as you. Keep it simple and the car looks good enough on it's own.

nice engine mods for that level, you scared us with the veilside bodykit though. If you ever do that though just add whiskers on the side of the front bumper and then it will look like a catfish, now that ROCKS!

take care of your car its nice

Narfle 04-17-06 05:33 AM

Im really happy for you and happy to see a 7 in the hands of someone who can appreciate and care for her. I wish you the very best in you rx-adventure. Hows the compression? You got a good deal.

adictd2b00st 04-17-06 08:28 AM

KaiFD3S 04-17-06 11:13 AM

That's what I was about to say. Are there a lot of 7s in your area? Just out of curiosity, I'm assuming that your Mazda dealership is one of the few in the country that can actually work on a 7 from head to toe, correct? Because like "adictd2b00st" said, that's a whole lot of 7s for one Mazda dealership.

Nice FD :icon_tup: I hope you enjoy yours as much as I'm enjoying mine. ;)

Yeah, I keep hearing people advising not to take an RX-7 to a Mazda-dealership, but our tech's are very capable with rotaries; one of them has owned 13 RX-7's already, and has rebuilt countless more (he's currently restoring a black R1, the one in that first set of pictures).
