Finally got a taste of why we all do these upgrades:)

Well my car has been out of commission for almost a month now as I have been making modifications and waiting for parts. Well it's finally done (for now) and I was able to drive it around all evening. During the last month it went from being almost totally stock to having the upgrades I have listed in my signature.

It is incredible:dragster:! The power difference is significant and immediately noticable. I easily chirped the tires when shifting into second gear which I wasn't able to do with my wider wheels before tonight. To bad I couldn't find any other fast cars to have some fun with.

I'm very happy with the sound of the Racing Beat exhaust. The car finally makes some noise when I step on it without being real loud.

The combination of the radiator, downpipe, and the PFC making the fans kick in earlier keeps the car very cool. I was driving like mad all evening and my temp never even made it to 100 C. Of course, it is pretty cool out here tonight.

I know this is old news to many of you and compared to some my car is still pretty basic. Having never driven anything faster than a stock FD before tonight though, it's a new experience for me and I thought I would share:).

That kind of reminds me of when I went from stock to a dp, cb, intake, and flywheel. My rwhp went from 215 to 265 and was incredible - sounded good and was very fast. When a coolant seal let go my motor popped so I went all out. Now my car is sick fast. You with those mods have around a 12.8 car so I'm sure you're extremely happy. Go mess with some Mustangs and Camaros and show them what a 1.3 liter can do:D

Hey kwikrx7,

Thanks for the advice. I can't wait to give some other cars a little taste of rotary power:).

How do you like that Random Technology high flow cat? I think I'm still running a bit rich so I'm thinking about getting one. I know they don't give the power that a midpipe does but for several reasons I think I would prefer a high-flow cat.

Mods are a funny animal....once you start with them its very hard to stop!!!!

I have the Pettit resonated mp with a Pettit exhaust that I think is prob similar to yours. I love the resonated mp and with it you can pull the air pump. The engine bay looks SOOOOO much different without the air pump you wouldnt believe. You can actually see the pri turbo!!!!!!

If you go with a mp you'll have basically the same mods I had when i ran a 12.3 @ 113

Later and enjoy!!!

Sounds like me also.........I had 114k on my '93 when the clutch went out, so I parked it and started looking for the mods. i settled for ACT's Street/strip clutch w/8.5# flywheel; Pettit's TKT intake & 3" SS Downpipe; boost guage & TT; besides the engine & turbo rebuild.

I'v put over 1k on it since the rebuild.......you can feel the power just waiting to be unleashed!

I am very satisfied with the performance, BUT.............I am already planning on the next stage of mods.....Hi-Flow Cat, boost controller, BOV & ECU upgrade. Maybe next year.:bigthumb:
