filling transmission oil through the shifter?

is this ok to do? im really tired of fluid pumps blowing off the hoses and stinky gear oil getting everywhere. My shifter isnt in the transmission right now anyhow and it looks and smells like that hole connects to the main part of the transmission, but i cant be sure of course since i have never taken apart the transmission to be sure. Anyone with more insight care to comment?

You can not fill the trans by way of the shifter .I guess you have not built any of these tranneys yet .

It's possible on many very early Mazda trannies.

Not that this changes anything, but you can fill 240sx transmissions in this manner.

I used to fill my MK3 supra through the stick. Not my FD though. There is an extra compartment for fluid.
