fiberglass to oem material
which weighs more? 99 spec bumper is the object in question. Oem or fiberglass? which is lighter?

the real 99 spec is the same material as the 93-95 oem polyurethane I believe. Why are you concerned with the weight? OEM and a fiberglass bumper will be very similar in weight both being extremely light I cant say which is heavier.

well im trying to decide if i should get the pettit fiberglass 99 bumper w/o the liscence plate holder or stick with the oem. Iono... sometimes having that black rx7 plate on the front can add to the car. does any1 think it kinda looks empty without the plate holder? or maybe its just because ive never seen a clean and clear pic of a 99 bumper w/o the plate holder. hrm...

I highly doubt that! oem is lighter then any fiberglass bumper out there right now. my single layer 12k12k carbonfiber front bumper is barely as light as the stocker is infact. you would have to perhpas use drycarbon or vaccum pack the crap out of a cf peice to get to the same weight as the stock bumper is, then again, you have to take off the bumper support for soem aftermarket bumpers so perhaps it is lighter |
