map sensor is EASY as hell to replace. 1 hose, 1 bolt, 1 connector. in plain view.

the car will run like complete ass if the map sensor is bad?
so, how is she running? the knick sensor isn't that hard either, plus it's only like $40 |
Start with the connections first and inspect that. The sensors might not even be bad, it just may be that the ECU is not getting signal.

my cars idle is fubard... suspecting the map

But you can try posting a WTB here----> https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-generation-rx-7-1993-2002-parts-99/ |
If I remember correctly, knock sensor was about $170 from Ray at Malloy 888.533.3400
As others have stated, start with the trouble shooting before you start "shotgunning" parts. That gets expensive quick and it still won't solve your problems... Good luck. Charlie |
on my daily driver i got codes for a cam position sensor and a crank position sensor. So i payed 500 to get them both replaced, didnt fix anything and they just handed me my keys and i was in the same spot as before, i put it on a lift and spent about five min looking and found i had a broken wire going to my crank sensor. It was only a couple bucks and a couple minutes and i was back on the road. Lesson here is never just slap parts on, always diagnose. try not to prove what isnt working, prove what does work to help you diagnose. take a voltmeter make sure you have voltage to each sensor, check wiring diagrams maybe the sensors are connected somewhere ( like i had a cam sensor code when the wires to the crank sensor were bad ) make sure that your sensor is grounded properly maybe the bolt rattled loose and that is why it cuts out every once in a while, just go over the whole system to make sure everything else is okay, it will take time but it will save money

knock sensor rarely go bad, check your connectors. How many miles on the car? It could be a connectors or a dried up engine harness starting to give you all sorts of electrical sensor problems.
