FD seller support group?

Just made a big cross country move and had to sell my low mileage FD. Then I find this about the buyer.... https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-generation-specific-1993-2002-16/stock-7-vs-state-trooper-695108/. I think I need a shoulder to cry on. :(

Hope this guy learns his lesson before someone else pays for his stupidity.

sucks u sold the car to an idiot. its alright, you didn't know, at least i hope you didn't.

Herblenny 10-10-07 05:29 AM

I don't know if he will learn it.. Obviously he thinks it was cool to do that and getting a ticket.. LOL! Hope his parents are smart enough and take his car away.. 46MPH over in most states is reckless driving.. LOL!

jsplit 10-10-07 08:39 AM

Kinda sounds like BS to me and prolly anyone else who is familiar with VA cops.
20+ over is reckless and they basically take you to jail on the spot.

I read the thread you attached and have to throw the red bullshit flag on that knucklehead's comments.

I live in Virginia.

I have been pulled over for going 11 miles over the speed limit.

The state trooper who pulled me over told me that 11 milles over the limit brings a reckless driving charge which requires that I go to the station for inprocessing!!

The trooper cut me a break as I was in uniform at the time.

I think the knuklehead is talking smack to make himself look cool to the rest of us.

Granted he is an idiot, but I'm betting that he doesn't drive that fast.

Well unfortunately I didn't have the ability to do background checks and be super picky with buyers. At the end of the day its just a car and he had the money.

Yea I lived in VA as well and I know what your talking about. If nothing else I heard the new reckless fines (20 mph over) over there are like $2500 and then a certain dollar amount extra depending on how many points you have. I would like to think that itself would teach him a pretty good lesson but i have a feeling he wouldn't be the one paying it.

I don't know what would be more stupid.. if he actually did it or if he just randomly made this up.

Come on man, you've got to have a spare key lying around somewhere... :D

Agreed... I wonder if it would do any good to let a VA cop friend know. Hmmmm

yeah, thats what i thought also. my gf was doing 95 in a 70 on the interstate once and they jailed her for a night! with no previous tickets even.

either way, similar story when i sold my last FD. i thought i was selling it to an older guy - turns out it was for his 17 year old daughter. a couple of months later i saw she wrecked it pretty bad (slid into a guard rail or something). :wallbash:

mmaluso 10-10-07 10:08 AM

Yea the last fd I sold a couple years ago was totalled the first week the guy had it. That guy was in his 20s but coming from a honda civic and ASSURED us he would drive responsibly with it. I hate to stereotype honda people but they sure make it easy sometimes.

gracer7-rx7 10-10-07 10:52 AM

Wow. VA sounds like some kind of communist state with those penalties...

Do the politicos get tickets too? ;)

spaceman_spiff 10-10-07 11:06 AM

va is hands down the crappies state to drive in. i seriously believe it's becuase they don't have any actual crime, so the police focus all their time on speeders

DigDug 10-10-07 11:17 AM

20MPH over speed limit, or anything over 80MPH, is reckless in VA. It's a misdemeanor here, so the officer has the option to arrest the driver, but they can let you go with a summons. Anything over 100MPH and you'd be lucky to get released on the spot, but the judge will certainly give you jail time and probably suspend your license for a year. Not to mention the ridiculous new fines (which I hear are being repealed BTW).

wanklin 10-10-07 11:25 AM

^ And we're not even getting into the new DWI statutes yet....

If you like to drive like a maniac, VA is def not the place to do it, especially NoVa.

yusoslo 10-10-07 11:27 AM

I have been hearing the same. Any reckless driving is a 3,000 fine payable over the next 3 years. A 1,500 fine for not signaling.

It's to pay for the new highway system.

totally gay

Davin 10-10-07 11:45 AM

i am so sorry man! i was a honda guy that baught an RX7... but then again i work hard for everything and value what i purchase!

MADDSLOW 10-10-07 01:28 PM

Oh wow, I wish there was some sort of "90 day grace period" where you can decide you want to take your car back from a retard...

I'm sorry for that, I'm 19 and try not to fill that sterio type.

I respect my car more then most people on this forum. I treat my car like a brother and do everything I can (Including putting my self in heavy debt) for this car.

93 MB 47k miles ~
