fd rx7 fuel rail question?

Hi this is a dumb question but I am going to buy a full function engineering fuel rails for my 93 fd rx7 and I was wondering which fittings I should get for the fuel rail -6an or -8an I have never messed with these type of fittings. Also on there website they say what options to choose from 34mm, 48mm, and 60mm injectors which injectors should I use.
Thanks

The injector sizing is dependant on what size injectors you will be running. When you buy injectors they usually give you sizing options that should match the option you picked for the rail.

Hi ok so what are good rotary friendly injectors and what fittings would you use listed above.
Thanks

Slow2k 12-05-13 07:08 PM

The ID injectors are popular. Im using -6an. Depends upon your own setup and space.

I am probably going to use id1000 primarys and Id2000 secondaries.
Thanks

Are you going to use PFC to tune? I dont recommend going past 750cc primaries if so.

Hi I was considering a pfc, haltech, or a aem. What are your thoughts on the injector sizes.
Thanks

Grinch 12-05-13 08:50 PM

Id2000=34mm spacers with no top hats. Id1000 in primary=48mm no hats. You can buy the fuel package from them and they'll send you the right spaces and give you the $15 blue lim cups for free this way.

Hi this is a dumb question but what's the cups for.
Thanks

Grinch 12-05-13 10:37 PM

People say they seal better, there like $15 a pice. If order rails/injectors get them free I believe.

OK what are your thoughts on my injector sizes go bigger or smaller. Also how do you like injector dynamics.
Thanks

seriously man? go read something.

You're about to make a $1000 purchase. You'd think you'd put in an effort to learn about what you're buying. That being said, nobody on here knows your, your car, or what you hope to accomplish with your fuel system so how is anybody supposed to tell you what to buy?

fd 4 life 12-06-13 02:38 AM

this is what u need

get the 725cc id for primary and get the 2000cc for secondary tell them to give u all 6an fittings for the rails and order a banjo bolt with ffe while ur at it go to ebay and order all your an fittings I like Russell ones now depending on how u want to run ur lines ur going to need a couple different ones:icon_tup: power fc helps too :icon_tup:

the best

there the best on the market id ftw the 725cc are nicer for idle

Hi fd 4 life I will talk to full function engineering again he is the one who recommended the Id1000 as the primaries.
Thanks

Monkman33 12-06-13 10:00 AM

For ease of idle tuning, I'd go with the 725's and then go with whatever size secondary gets you to your power goals.

ricardo.benin 12-06-13 10:39 AM

OK I will talk to full function engineering and see what my options are because Im buying there fuel rail.
Thanks

Grinch 12-06-13 11:00 AM

This ideal talk funny. I know people with id2000 that run better then stock, all in the tune. What fuel you going run? I'm use id1000 primary and 4id2000 secondary but I'm e85 and going for 600+. Elliot said has no problem with 2000 in primary so we'll see how my car duty% is.

Hi I am going to run 93 octane with water/meth injection.
Thanks

Monkman33 12-06-13 11:13 AM

E85 requires more fuel all around.

I'm not saying large primaries are impossible to tune idle, but it makes it more difficult. Especially depending on which ecu you go with.

ricardo.benin 12-06-13 11:20 AM

HI I still need to find out what ecu I am going to use I was thinking of going with adaptronics, haltech, maybe aem but I am new to the tuning stuff so I got a tuning book and have been reading up on it what ecu would you guys go with.
Thanks

IRPerformance 12-06-13 11:20 AM

With the Power FC I generally do not like to go with larger than 725-850cc primaries. You can go with 1000s, but the idle and cruising afr's will never be as lean as I like. Its not bad by any means at all, just my preference. a 725/2000cc combo will be good for 500 rwhp plus. The hard fuel lines under the car will become a restriction first. I have complete fuel systems and components. Let me know what you need.

Hi Rotary Experiment Seven I took the pfc off my list of ecu because the adaptronic ecu is like a pfc but way more capable but I get what you are saying about a 725-850cc injector as it would be easier to pass emissions luckily we don't have visual inspections. How do you like the bosch injectors compared to injector dynamics.
Thanks

Grinch 12-06-13 12:06 PM

Pro efi I been told by gang of people is way ahead of ecu out there today. But I haven't seen much use on rotary cars. I Went with adaptronic cuz what my tuner likes best.

ricardo.benin 12-06-13 12:08 PM

Hi one problem for me is I need to find a tuner in Washington state.
Thanks
