pull codes & report back

Sounds like limp mode. Reset your ECU by disconnecting your battery cables for a few minutes. Reconnect, start it up and if your cel light comes back on, shut it off, pull the codes and post the results.

i had the same problem once. it was a pulley rubbing the OMP wires i pushed the wires back and secured them and that fixed it. CEL was flashing just like described...

Now when it hit 3000 it shuts off.

if you want help you need to give more detail bro...

posting along the lines of..... My shit dont work.... Wont get you very far

IF your check engine light is flashing, then you have a Code stored. pull the code.... its not very hard to do.

It seems to act like there is a short somewhere. It ran fine for a few minutes and then quit.
Had a hard time getting it started, then it ran up to 3000RPM and quit. Than it started right
up but at 3000RPM started cutting out. I dont know how to pull the codes.

Get a factory service manual (FSM - download from www.iluvmyrx7.com) and use the search function. We can't help to solve your problem without YOU helping yourself first....

Either take it to a knowledgable shop or spend some effort in basic troubleshooting. I'll get you started -- it sounds like you are experiencing a "limp home" mode, which is usually caused by a serious Code. Pull the codes (search for procedure), read the code in the FSM (Section F), and get back to us.
