Fd--rip

Some of you might've caught the kills section thread i posted about chasing down that '01 m5. Later that night i totalled my baby on a back road around a tree. I dont remember much, but i think i dozed off and went off on the low shoulder, then lost contol when i tried to swerve back on the road. I'm lucky to be alive, which i realized after i saw my car. Just thought i'd say farewell and thanks for all the help over the last year-- i'll let you all know if gather the balls to buy another one :) drive safe everyone

Andrew

CowsniperRX7 04-23-03 02:06 PM

Sorry to hear that. I'm glad to see you are ok. Get another 7 and some caffine! :p:

Kyro-2 04-23-03 02:07 PM

damn man I hate hearing about this. But your ok so thats good.. Get another 7 and WAKE UP!

spurvo 04-23-03 02:20 PM

I know! I commiserate with your loss, though I'm also sad to see yet another one go down. But how do you doze off while driving? I have NEVER done that, even when driving blind (YEARS ago, stupid thing to do!!!!!!!!)

DaedelGT 04-23-03 02:23 PM

I get really tired driving at night, especially on long boring straights where I'm afraid to speed. I know once or twice I've nodded off.

Decay 04-23-03 02:24 PM

Damn Andrew that blows. What road was it on?

Was this the CYM you bought from the guy in Upper Darby?

ZeroBanger 04-23-03 02:59 PM

Glad your ok. Do us a favor and dont destroy another rx7. get a pos civic or mustang.

Sorry to hear about your accident, but next time be more responsible.

ignore this guy...its just a car and everyone makes a mistake that *could* lead to the same outcome, zerobanger just thinks he's a flawless driver i guess. sorry to hear about your loss...glad you're ok, a car can be replaced.

ZeroBanger 04-23-03 05:17 PM

No I DONT think I am flawless. YES EVERYONE makes a mistake. When I read this:

---------------------Some of you might've caught the kills section thread i posted about chasing down that '01 m5. Later that night i totalled my baby on a back road around a tree. The first thing I think is, I am very glad this guy didn't kill anyone else and secondly that he is ok. When I was 18 I bought an 82 RX-7, I was showing off to a friend and wrapped it around a tree. I was very shaken up so I know what its like. That was 15 years ago.

Every single day I read a thread about someone that totalled another FD and frankly it makes me sick. I hope that this guy learned the same lesson I learned when I was a kid.

I NEVER said I was a flawless driver.

racerfoo 04-23-03 05:49 PM

and now you own an FD...everyone learns...im sure he did. i know i did when i wrecked my FD...even tho it wasnt my fault.

den-man 04-23-03 09:58 PM

yo zero banger, i dont need any car-purchase advice or smart ass comments from you, i dont know you and you dont know me, so keep your goddamn comments to yourself. I did learn my lesson, and no i'm not gonna go get a pos civic or mustang, i'll wreck as many cars as i want to as far as you're concerned. I worked my ASS OFF to over the last year to have this car, just got it on the road a couple months ago, and i wasnt an idiot about driving it. I wasnt driving fast or out of control, the circumstances of my accident would've been the same in ANY car. I'm not a kid, im 21, and i happen to be a very safe and responsible driver-
Everyone else, thanks, i'll let you know if i decide to pick up another fd. btw, i drove a 350z today and was certainly unimpressed. I have a feeling i'll never be happy until i have another fd.

Not bustin your balls man, but you quoted your own "kills section" thread...

Not too much safe about racing... :)

karken29 04-23-03 10:58 PM

Yo Den-Man... I know how you must feel! That really sucks! I speak from recent experience! check this link out... http://members.bellatlantic.net/~kar...les/frame.htmI thought mine would be totalled by the insurance company after my New Years day accident....:o: Caught in a rain storm with Yokohama AVS tires! Not smart... However Costas Auto Body brought mine back from the brink... Dave, @ KD Rotary saw it today and said it's the best resto job he's ever seen... Maybe, yours can be saved!?. Too.

If I hear of an FD for sale I'll send it your way... We're not that far apart... (I'm in Morristown, NJ).... And, if you ever need an FD Fix... give me PM and drop by... I'll tighten you up... I have 2 in the garage,,, mine and goodfellafd3s.... He's in Iraq right now...checking out the Baghdad museum gift shop!! Mine is mild and his is WILD... (B&R's, mid pipe, auh...it's a fucking race car!)

:dragster:

In the mean time, look on the bright side... You're OK... That's all that really counts.

Good luck,

Rich :patriot:

T88NosRx7 04-23-03 11:14 PM

I doubt it. He's just doesn't want to be the first *official* shameless vulture.

BTW den-man,
What color is/was your FD? :D

GarageBoy 04-24-03 09:16 AM

Good Luck

TTurboXfd3s 04-24-03 10:14 AM

=/.... can we call have a moment of silence? .................................................. ........................i think that was long enough! man sucks to hear that man, but it's dope to hear you're not to down about it! i mean yeah our FD's are our lives, but what's an FD when you're dead? man if i had a near death experiense i'd be at church everyday! GO TO CHURCH EVERYONE IT'LL help our stressful lives a little more. and make our FD's a little happier because we won't be abusing them as often.

Too bad. You chose to race on the street putting the lives of others and yours in danger. YOU DO NEED ADVICE. dont want it? Dont post it on a public forum.

I did learn my lesson, and no i'm not gonna go get a pos civic or mustang, i'll wreck as many cars as i want to as far as you're concerned.

I hope you kill yourself and not some innocent person when you wreck.

You call that safe and responsible? You chased down a 01 M5 and that is responsible? Then later that night you totaled your from DOZING off? so you are sleepy after having a great race on a public street, wreck your car after falling a sleep and lose control and you are a responsible and good driver? You have been watching the Iraq Minister of Information a little too much.

Everyone else, thanks, i'll let you know if i decide to pick up another fd. btw, i drove a 350z today and was certainly unimpressed. I have a feeling i'll never be happy until i have another fd.

Get the 350Z, they seem to total them every day too.

Tomco78 04-24-03 10:47 AM

Hey! Give the guy a break! I'm getting pissed here...
He learned his lesson.

Sorry to hear about your loss man..
I can not imagine anything more painful than trying to stay awake when driving...

TwinTurbo93 04-24-03 12:17 PM

It's fugged-up to hear another FD wrecked, glad to hear you're OK though.

den-man 04-24-03 08:35 PM

somebody please pm me and tell me where that little fucker lives and zero banger, you better have a damn good life insurance policy.
i knew that douchebag was gonna say something about me racing the m5 and not being responsible bla bla bla, it was 2 miles of open 3 and 2 lane highway, with not one car, and i'd love to see anyone pass up a chance to race in the safest conditions possible-
- i'll post up some pics asap of my car

I take this as a threat, you are showing your immaturity right now. You need to stop driving.
