FD Rear Cargo Privacy Cover

Hi guys - need some help and I search with no concrete answer and Mazda has been zero help.

Went into a Mazda dealership to order a rear cargo privacy cover, they indicated that there was one available but they could not tell me if it was a non-Bose or Bose cover. They want $672.00 CAD for it so I want to be sure it is the correct one - they told me I could not return the item if it was wrong.
Old part number was - MZFD05-68-310B-02
New part number is - FD05-68-310C-02

I require a non-Bose cover - does anyone know if this part is the non-Bose or Bose cargo cover?

Thanks in advance.

Part numbers for the OEM parts. The "MZ" in front of the first number is bogus, that's just showing Mazda I guess.

The B and C at the end is the revision of the part, every time Mazda updates the parts they up the letter.

The non-Bose hatch covers are REALLY uncommon used. They do seem to hold up pretty well over time. The Bose covers are much more common.

Dang...didn't realize they'd gotten that expensive. That's still over $500 U.S.

Not associated with the seller, but FWIW....

ESH Upholstery is a forum vendor. They are selling these in the group buy forum.

Anyone know where I could get the tabs that the cargo cover strings hang on? Has anyone used a 3D printer to make new ones?

The pegs that old the cargo cover up in the rear hatch are fd01-68-301 02 and they're $2.25 for Ray. But, you have to pay shipping.

Big trick I learned on those is to remove them - rotate 90 degrees and the come right out.

I bought a used bose cover locally and simply made 2 little covers wrapped in black carpet to cover the 2 holes. Turned out awesome. For the hatch rope tabs license plate grommets kit. Cheap cheap. Im happy with it.

I have spares. They are at the dealer for cheap. Less than 5 bucks IIRC

Quick update - I ordered part number FD01-68-310B-02 non-Bose cargo cover...to my amazement the price was much lower $415.00 CAD.
Mazda told me the part is coming from Japan - hopefully the part comes through (3 to 4 weeks I was told) I have been fooled by Mazda before.

Cheers

Was this with a discount? Most of us in the GTA get a discount from the dealer.

I am lazy right now by not reading the others reply. I don’t know if someone suggested to you already but I had somebody on the rx7 club do one for me for under 300 dollars. Mine was the non bose one. But It was a perfect fit. I will send info later

I have ordered so many parts from this Mazda dealership that they give me a 15% discount now.
I'm really hoping this part comes through from Japan but I'm skeptical - time will tell.

We also sell these brand new from Mazda for $320+shipping (Non-Bose)

A4U 11-15-17 01:19 PM

Hi Everyone,

Mazda came through with the part today...it's perfect. Only took two weeks to come in from Japan.

Listed below are the part numbers and approximate cost for reference.

FD01-68-310B-02 - Non-Bose privacy cargo cover approximately $326.00 U.S. Dollars or ($415.00 CAD)
FD05-68-310C-02 - Bose privacy cargo cover approximately $530.00 U.S. Dollars or ($672.00 CAD)

Thank you to DaleClark and everyone else who helped me out on this.

Cheers

Did this part ship with the complete cargo cover assembly, including the tethers that attach it to the hatch? Thx!

A4U 11-15-17 04:03 PM

Yes...the part came complete and assembled - rubber stopper, the two latches and the two tethers (stringing things).
Not going to lie...I am pleased.

Well thanks for sharing , I went to my local dealer here in and when I give him the part # couple months ago , he told me it wasn't in the system so they couldn't order it...

They did find the non-bose one.
