FD oil film in coolant

:Wconfused A tech question. There has been an oil film in the coolant of my FD RZ JDM for the last few months. There is no coolant loss d the car does not heat up...temp varying between 75 to 85 celsius... no drop in performance.. still as strong as ever. The oil does has not foamed up or creamed.. checked many times by oil changes... I change oil at every 1000 miles... 12-1400 km. And the car has done more than 8000 km since I noticed this.

What may be wrong...???

are you sure it is oil usually oil in coolant means your o rings are going out.

^^^ Agree. But, if it is just a slight film, you MAY be able to use the engine for quite a while before anything (coolant loss, hard starting) gets bad enough to need a rebuild. Just keep track of the coolant level, and watch for hard starting or excessive (much more than normal) steam from the exhaust at startup.

If it doesn't get worse, I'd just monitor things closely until it does, at which point you'll need a rebuild.

Maybe try flushing the coolant a few times to ensure that there wasn't any bad coolant in there causing the oil film you noticed.
