FD key code

Can anyone give me a definitive answer on where I can find the key code for my keys. I have taken both door lock barrels out and there is no code printed on them.
The lock mechanism has a gold arm inside it with a "3c55"(not my code/ but how its structured) printed. Is this the code?

Or is the code printed on the door behind the door card?

My key is broken and mazda want an arm and a leg in the UK!

Thanks

you have to get a key code from the dealer or a locksmith, it is not written anywhere on the car

I went through this with a 94 rx7. Go call your local mazda dealer and ask for the key code to make sure it is in there system. They will not tell you the number but they will tell you if they have it or not, they will need the vin. If they have it go to the dealer and make sure to bring the registration or title so they know you in fact own the car or they will not give you the code also make sure to pre order the key as when I went they had no blanks.

Yeah...few of us still have the little stamped key-code plate that came with the car.

But really, just do it the easy way and go to a locksmith. A good one can re-key any or all your locks/switches to be identical in a few hours, tops. And far, FAR cheaper.

depends on the quality of the lock smith that might have done the first, second, or third re keying..... my key ended up having flat spots on it but ended up working.

I walked into the dealership to the parts guy, told him my dilemma, and hey said " you didn't get this from me." and wrote down my key code on a tiny piece of paper.

I took that to a good ole family owned locksmith who know their shit, and he about fell out and couldn't believe the dealer gave up the key code. so then they cut me some perfect keys.

The next day i called up ray Crowe and got some keys cut on mazda blanks just for that feeling of having a "new new" key.

so you have done a lot of work pulling the barrels when you should have called up your dealer or Ray. But be prepared to show proof of ownership.

Call Malloy Mazda. If your car has the original locks you can get a new key cut with the VIN.
