FD issue with speedo

So i have had nothing, but tranny issues with my FD since I bought it. When i finally was given a tranny for free I decided to tear into it and fix the syncro issue. The tranny that i had in the car was giving me issues and sometimes i would refuse to go into reverse. Very much a pain in the ass. About 3 days before pulling it out I took the car for a drive and noticed that as soon as I took off the speedo went to 60 and stayed there. I was confused and started to tap it and no change. I came to a stop and it would drop to a little under 40 and stay there until I moved again and it went back up to 60.

I figured it was the speed sensor in the tranny and since I had another tranny it would be taken care of when the new tranny is in. I was wrong. The problem still happening.

Is there anything you guys think it could be. That is kind a weird that both speed sensors on both trannys are bad.

Thanks in advance,

Mr2dude... Despite it being kind of weird, it is still a good possibility, though it could be something in the cluster circuit controlling the gauges. And, before the Search-First-Nannies get on you here, let me remind you that it is always a good thing to search this forum (there's a button for it to the right on the top line of the box around the 3rd gen section) and see about speedo and speed sensor problems. There may be an answer you can find quickly that way.

Gordon

Yeah bro I have tried to search for anything pertaining to my issue and could not find anything like what I had.

I have also done the guage cluster fix when mine died about a month ago. My ODO comes and goes though, but everything else was working fine.

Does your odometer still works? If so then is your cluster.

Yeah my odo comes on and off, but it does count miles when it is on.

Cluster then. Mind did that before it went out along with the speedo and tach.

My solution?

Since I was reading that even when you fix our cluster is prone to keep happening I'm going this route.

Yeah I replaced all of those already. I may have to pull the dash out and take a look at them to check and see if anything happened.
