Hell yea I like that. I've seen some other cars do the same thing. How're making the connection to the speakers from the iPad?
|
It is not hard I will see if I can find the tutorial I used when I did this to my X-runner. The ipad communicates with this interface box to convert the signal ti multiple speakers so you get the right left for the front and rear. Then you can even add a sub.
I would like to see this done with an ipad mini ;-) Great job so far. I will see if I find the design i used for mine. It was easy to get in and out and at the same time it was very secure. |
This is the iPad mini!!!

I was pretty surprised that the iPad mini fit SO well. It was quite exciting. :icon_tup: |
Cool, perfect fits :)

I was going to to the same thing with an HTC Android tablet, but then I decided to go a different route.

I was thinking android too...but I got a super good deal on a mini
|
Thats very nice. Looks good built in but id like to use my iPad as a handheld device too. Would be nice to have the ability to take it out but it would look weird.

I really wanted to do something like this but ended up buying an appradio. We'll see how that goes. Defintiely post up a parts list and tutorial!
|
im going to do this with a nexus 7
|
Ah sweet. It looked bigger lol

Here are some links i was able to find.
iPad Tacoma Install Complete IPAD INSTALL IN DASH OF TACOMA 2ND GEN - Tacoma World Forums |
If I decide to do that I might just do a PC setup. with HKS Camp.
|
I would love to see a Nexus 7 install. The size of it is more fitting for this type of install, wouldn't look so cramped.
|
Now tie it into your PowerFC.

This is dooppee!!! haha
How does it stay in place though? Is it secure? Won't be falling in or out or anything? yeah you should give us more insight on how you did this. So you can hook up the sound from the ipad headphone jack to the subs? And then from subs to speakers? Would music quality be lost or is it as good as a good receiver? |
Thunderbolt to audio out I'll write up a DIY in a few days. Pretty packed at work right now
|
I gotta find someone who can do this to my car. Awesome
|
I'm currently doing this with a nexus 7...but I'm trying to make it removable and able to charge while in the car. I'm actually getting rid of my drivesoft just so I can have everything synced to android.
