FD Boost Controller
Hey everyone, I'm looking at getting a boost controller for my 93. I still have the stock twins but i read on here that it's safe to adjust it up a little bit from the 10-8-10. I was thinking about going up to 12 or maybe 12.5. I was looking at the GReddy Profec B spec 2 and was wondering if anyone had any insight as to if its a good choice? If not, recommendations? Thanks

IMO, if you have a stock computer I would not run anymore that 10psi. I have the apexi avc-r and like it alot.

10-8-10 unless you have an upgraded ECU. A basic pettit flashed ecu will work but still scary.

I have a greedy profec B spec II. I love it. It's small relatively inexpensive and simple to use.
and yeah I third that unless you want a blown engine do NOT turn up the boost past 10 psi on a stock ECU. |
Had the Greddy type-S, solid unit
also had the hallman pro RX manual boost controllers which i wish i had kept. I dont think you want a boost controller. I think you want an ECU. |
ok thanks for the info, i was looking into ecu's as well. I'm new into actually doing my own work to my car, I have a buddie who is a mechanic. But i would rather learn these things on my own too so he's gonna walk me through it. But i didnt know about the ecu thing, i guess ill start looking around, any suggestions? i know pettit makes some good quality parts

if u get the apexi power fc u can raise the boost with that as well....... so u dont NEED to get a boost controller but its recommended to avoid boost spike

The Apexi PFC is a good bet. It's a solid, well known, ECU with room for lots of improvement as you add more and more mods. The PFC also has effective control over the stock boost control solenoids.

ok thanks alot, ill look into the Apexi and probably just buy an ECU and a controller together
