I've just purchased a set of the single sheave Banzai Racing pulleys with the pineapple racing tensioner for my FD engine. The problem I now have is the timing marks I need to put on the main pulley. I say FD engine because it's going in my RX4 so I'll be using a 12a front cover, the engine will also be running an RX8 e-shaft. The question is, which main pulley should I use to transpose the timing marks onto my new main pulley?

Does this bad boy engine use the FD timing sensors or is it using a CAS? And the need for the 12A front cover is due to the engine mounts?

It'll be using either a CAS or a dizzy...haven't made up my mind on efi or carby yet...

Sorry...I need the 12a front cover for mounting as it is going in my RX4.

Transfer the timing marks from the main pulley that corresponds to the front hub you will be using. Technically you should be installing the FD timing wheel regardless of the hub since the FD main pulley is designed to have it there as a spacer. The FD and FC have the same hub orientation, just the 20B is keyed differently.

On my 20B I run the CAS, but still have the FD Timing wheel with the 20B timing marks. If you use the FD front hub then the timing marks are already set for you.
