fd auto engine diff from stick?

i read some where that the fd engines that originaly where automatic does not bolt on to standard trannys.
is this true for the cosmo engine also?

COsmo RE, 20B, and FD REW auto engines use a special back plate molded differently for the auto bellhousing/starter. You can run a manual trans behind it, there will be a hole on the side (of no consequence) and an extra ear/bolthole that wont be used. You can not, however, run an auto trans behind a manual rear plate.

let me ask you a stupid question,i have a 88 turbo II engine sitting in my garage that i wanted to street port pin and rebuild for my 90 vert. But i hear that the stock S6 engines stock port are the same size as if you street ported a S4 engine to the max.now i desided to buy a 13b re for the swap.now my problem is that eather way the 13b re engine will be stock and god knows how long it will last since its coming from japan.
so now i am very confused and dont realy wanna start a project that i cant finish,i have been asking questions and doing heavy reaserch but i still fall back to square one.
i will be buying a microtech but dont know which on is best for what i wanna do.i know the lt12s has the wide band sensor and all but i am more worried about once i get the (13b RE/or 13b Turbo ported) will the microtech cover all the wiring i need to get the engine running/since i will not have the stock wire harnes for eather one.
i was ready to dump all this and get into dept with a 93,but the banks wont give me a loan. so back to my project

what the hell to do?

Here's a novel idea...ground breaking even. Put the engine in the car that was meant to go in the car, and go on with life.

All the 87-95 turbo engines had the same port size/timing on the iron face. The runner in from the side of the irons were all different, though, and some were angled or larger. In that respect, the t2 are smallest, then the REW, then the RE are largest. But the timing and size where it matters most, adjacent to the rotor, are identical for secondary ports, the primary ports on the 89+ turbo, REW and RE are smaller/open later.

As for microtechs I cant help there.

Sounds like you might want to stick to something simpler for the time being.
