FC Center Iron Vs FD Center Iron

Hi guys,

Is there a difference between the FD center iron and the FC center iron?

yes. the important one is that the intake ports are in a different place

Would you happen to have photos of the difference in intake port? I'm buying a center iron but Im worried that its a FC center iron and not a FD.

This shows the end irons, but the port difference and placement is significant.

Easiest would be to compare to the iron that you have in pictures. It should be pretty obvious based on the port design.

Most distinctive feature of the FD center side housing to me as an FC guy is that the FD housing has a big rectangular groove/slot above the intake ports' face and below the LIM center bolt hole for the injector air bleed feed and the FC just has 2 little holes alongside the LIM center bolt hole for the bleeds.

Do NA FCs not even have the center lower intake manifold bolt?

I never noticed that, but it sure explains why almost all the Holley 4150 style intake manifolds lack provision for the center bolt...

correct. no bolt.

Thanks everyone! This was extremely helpful! Now I can finish my rebuild and hopefully drive again.
