Fans Constantly Run.....

Well i dont know why but the fans run all day long. Arent they supposed to come on at a certain temperature? or does everyones fans run all the time.

Your fans should not come on when the car is cold. there are two temp sensors on the back of the water pump. One is for the guage and the other controls the fans if I'm not mistaken. You need to check the sensor that is closer to the ground. It may be disconnected. If this sensor is disconnected the fans will run. Also check the wires and all that. The actual sensor may be bad but check connections first.

Did you by chance just change out the ECU?

Mine will run for a few minutes after the car is shut down, but that's it.

Something is not right; I'm surprised your battery isn't already shot.

Yes i have a power Fc now but even before when it was automatic it would still run all the time.

and i believe both of them are hooked up. I know the one with the black clip is good, i believe thats the one closer to the bottom. I have to check tomorrow.

Make sure it is grounded

this is a WAY better alternative than the opposite problem. If you don't have the money to fix it just disconnect your battery at night. LOL

check the termosensor in the back of the water pump....mine came unplugged but not enough to make it look unplugged....popped it back in and no problems

Goukid 01-28-07 10:58 PM

no there all connected so go figure i guess. But yeah honestly id rather have it on all the time to. Just not when i want to start my car though. i think i might run them through a switch to remedy this.

kuroi FD 01-29-07 07:23 AM

Do you by chance leave your a/c on all the time because this would cause the fans to stay on. Try and fix the problem before you have to bypass it because then theres still a problem

A bad relay can do that. Get the service manual and a volt meter and start testing. There are 4 of them.
