Fan mod problem
 

I tried searching, but found nothing that sounds like my problem.

I purchased the car with a workin fan mod almost 6 months ago, a few nights ago, i noticed the temp was at 200 with the fans on, I get worried (my coolant seals are going bad, and my apex seals are almost 80k miles old) so i pull over, and see my fans arent running- and the switch is "on".

It works when the ac is on 4, and thats it.
with either light settings, it doesnt work
switch doesnt work.

What did I break/overlook?

What year is your FD?
I have a 94 and my switch acted in a similiar manner, I had checked everything and double checked and tried new grounds and nothing changed. So I simply reversed polarities on the switch itself, and whatya know it worked like normal again, (I didnt question the electrical gods) - just that the switch works in a reverse manner.

But Id check the ground first and check the switch, it could have gone bad too.

Its a 93, and I'll check that again tommorow in the daylight.
Anymore i need to add to my recheck list?

The connection to the diagnostic connector and switch is just ground. Reversing the polarity would just reverse the direction of your switch, since all it does is short the ground to the diag. connector.

Ijneb, try shorting the connector manually and see if it's your switch.
