Fab'ing custom dual tip Exhaust (need input)
 

I'm a little overly stupid on the 'sleeper/stock' look of the FD, an example of that would be not wanting a large 5" exhaust tip for my setup.

Here is the problem and a semi solution for the others like me.

Problem:
My exhaust is (should say 'will be') 4" from the turbo back to the muffler. Problem is, i'm unable to find any dual-tip /dual muffler setups. I've looked at buying smaller mufflers and making my own but wanted to check first. a buddy of mine thinks that a single fart can is the way to go. the only thing he was able to point out (keeping 4" exhaust pipe in mind) was a dynomax 4" inlet to 5.5" outlet fart can. Screw that! takes away from the 'aw' of my car (i dont care about other cars - they're just fine in my book).

so basically i'd love to keep a 4" back exhaust (or at least 3.5") all while keeping off the single-muffler-can look.

Solution:
Recreate the dual tip apexi n1. simply put.
Resource two smaller mufflers, tack on a band for support across the mufflers and fab the rest of the pipe. here is where i need input. i've been unable to locate such mufflers. either they're oval in shape or simply too large in over all diameter.

i'm about out of ideas for this project. i've thought of using moto-bike mufflers but they're mostly too small (inlets) and VERY expensive.

anyone have any ideas?
(btw: i dont hate the single-tip muffler, its just not for me on this specific car :) )

I think you're on the right track. I don't see why two mufflers wouldn't be the same if not better.
Just remember that the important thing is the area, not the diameter. So a 4" pipe has much more area then two 2" pipes... With exhaust you want to avoid any sudden area changes.

I looked around a little and the best thing I could find would be two of these.

But considering the cost of two mufflers, steel, paying to have it bent/welded. It would be cheaper to buy an N1 dual, I have seen them cheap in the Parts section and they around more than 550$ new from reputable vendors.

well the dual N1 (as i recall) from my last FD was only 3";

though wasn't the inlets to the mufflers 2"? if so, why couldnt i simply cut the 3" inlet off the N1 dual tip and tig a 4" adapter? the guys at Dr Gas could fab up something really slick to make it "pretty".

4" is pretty uncommon. What type of power are you running?

I ended up buying a magnaflow muffler (4" inlet & outlet) and running into a Y pipe (4" into 2-3" outlets). It gave me what I wanted. I'll post photos later.
