ExtrudeHone LIM-UIM

has anyone tried the ExtrudeHone LIM-UIM modification from rotorsportsracing ? any feedback?

Many people have enlarged their manifold runners/ports. I've never seen any before/after dyno's to demonstrate that it's significant enough to warrant the money spent.

how about flow matching? or is it just easier/cheaper to get the GZ LIM?

justturbo2 03-05-08 08:03 PM

what's the price for this?

when i had my tiburon, i got a performance UIM that was similiar to extrude honed. grant it, it was a slightly larger shape than the stock one. but you could really feel a power increase.

easily 15-20 whp.

i dont know what kind of results youd see on an FD though.

That's a completely worthless post. You have no idea if it was the larger intake, ot the extrude honing that did it.

I looked into and called the company on it. They said it's more for flow matching that increasing the flow. They claim to have seen ~20% decrepancy between runners.

The thing that I don't like about the extrude hone process is that it basically forces a mix through the passageways to clean out the nastiness from the casting. So what happens when the intake path takes a bend? The putty is going to want to go striat and could potentially distrupt the flow more. Just my $.02

There is some casting lumps on the inside of the runners that if you remove it will destroy your stock lim. If you want a better flowing manifold i would go after market.

how about the fitment issues of an aftermarket once such as the xcessive?

Arent there guys making over 600 rwhp on the stock manifolds?

R-R-Rx7 03-06-08 11:09 AM

yeah i know a few but this will give a more reliable engine by the time u ll even the air flowing on both rotors and it will allow more air in

crxturboh22 03-06-08 08:47 PM
