Extra Injector controllers
So I got Jeff Hartman's "How to Tune and Modify Engine Management Systems" It's revised for 2006 so the information is pretty current. Anywho let's cut to the chase.
Since my car is daily driven i didn't want to bore out injectors or replace fuel rails but i'd still like to be able to add fuel wherever it's needed. So I've been looking for extra (auxiliary) injector controllers. Not some boost switch soldered injector radioshack silliness but a real honest to God programmable solution. I have a few questions: Who makes the LIM with the injector bungs? Is there a fuel rail designed to accommodate it? Thoughts on the following AIC's: HKS AIC GReddy Rebic IV RSR AIC400 Split Second AIC1 There are others but i really don't like the form factor, presentation, etc. They just don't look like the caliber of device i want in control of my fuel delivery. |
i have the split second ac2 i believe. (2 extra 750 cc injectors) works great. 15 psi all day long with a supra pump. no problems at all. might be selling soon. send me pm if your interested

There was a manifold spacer a while back which went between the UIM and LIM that could take extra injectors. I don't know if it's still available. The way most people did it in the past was using a Greddy Elbow which was sold with two injector bungs already welded on.
As far as which AIC to use, I've seen a few FD's using the HKS or the Split Second ones. |
I think the Ground Zero LIM also has extra injector bungs.. and that puts the injectors right where the others are. it also balances your airflow between rotors.

im not sure what the previous owner used for aux injector control but i have a UIM with two injector bungs if you are interested.

i would be willing to just straight up trade it for a polished UIM. i'm not just if its aftermarket or not but it looks as clean as i could imagine it to me.
