Existing foglight wiring ?
 

Alright, I search for awhile. found some relevant information, but not everything i needed.

I have a 1994 Montego Blue FD, it does not have a foglight switch and it doesn't look like it ever had any.

I found a 2 wire plug in the front of the main radiator support that looks similar to images i've seen of OEM foglight plugs. I'm curious if anyone could tell me if the factory wiring harness has the foglight wired in or not... I bought a brand new OEM foglight switch to wire in also, would prefer to use the OEM harness, relay, and switch before i have to run my own wires...

kind of a bigger 2 wire connector right in the middle of the support facing down?

I also wondered about that exact question. I would like to know if I just need to purchase the switch alone to go with the fog lights.

The front fog light connectors (2) should each have a solid black (ground) and solid white (power) wire. They get power from the shifter panel switch location Red with yellow stripe wire.

If you have a blank where your fog light switch should be (left most on LHD cars), look underneath to see if you have a white connector and wiring for:

White
Red/Black
Red/Yellow
Red/Green

I've been down this road a while back when I put my fogs in.

The front harness is there, there is a two wire connector attached to the bumper reinforcement that the short harness to each foglight connects to. This goes to one of the blue plugs (if I remember right) behind the driver's kick panel to then interface to the dash/interior harness.

This is where it gets fun :). My car (a '94 R2) didn't have the wiring from there to the fog switch. Basically the wire comes into that blue connector but no wire goes out the other side. I tapped into that wire, ran it to the center console, then ran a wire to the correct power input for the fogs, which is I think the headlight low beam. Wired in the switch like that, now the fogs work just like factory.

Took me a bit of studying the shop manual wiring diagrams and digging around in the car to figure it out, but it's a pretty simple circuit.

Again, this was YEARS ago, I don't remember specifics.

That blue connector is common connector X-06 I believe and that wire is Red/Yellow.

So from the front fog light connector:

White----->Blue common connector X-06---->Red with Yellow stripe---->to fog light switch
