Exhaust options
My car came with racing beats dual tip exhaust. The air pump is no longer connected and it's a single turbo setup.
I got a JASMA exhaust on trade and when researching it appears to be a HKS setup. The 3 digit code is 051 and the second number is 93000383 Can anyone knowledgeable tell me the difference if I put this JASMA exhaust on the car, I'm getting it tuned for e85 soon so probably best if I put the right exhaust on it. I'm looking for a little more exhaust note as the RB dual tip is a bit quiet. |

That looks like the HKS Super Turbo exhaust. It was designed to meet the Japanese standard so should be pretty quiet. https://www.hks-power.co.jp/en/produ...ffler/db/12776

That will probably be the same or quieter than the RB exhaust. Most exhausts that have a JASMA tag are on the quiet side. Also, most oval canister exhausts are on the quiet side.

JASMA stands for the Japan Automotive Sports Muffler Association, its a certification that the exhaust is quiet enough to be street legal, its not a brand.

So my question is, preformance wise would I see any difference or is it pretty much cosmetic and not worth the time and money to swap them. I can do it but maybe it's best I leave the RB dual tip on the car for now. |
In general, the more an exhaust flows, the louder it is. The more power you make the more the restriction from a quieter exhaust can reduce power.
Farther than that the specifics are tricky. Is it worth 5hp to have a quieter exhaust? Maybe. How about 50hp? That may be a hard option. Dale |
RBs are much more desirable as far as used parts go. Which probably tells you something. ;)
