Ever heard of R1 boost gauge?

THe FD I'm currently looking at has an R1 boost gauge...not R1 as in the RX-7 model name, but R1 for aftermarket brand name (et Apexi, Blitz, etc). However, trying to do some research online via Google-ing (a verb now) and forum-search....I can't find ANY information on it nor any info in regards if this item exists!. Are these super rare or what? What are the quality? Regardless, if the seller and I fall through and I purchase this car (using my gauages), my new Apexi boost gauges will take its place.

Thanks in advance,
eZ

It is real, this person has one in a 240sx. If nobody has really heard of it and you can't find any info on it, why not just get a boost gauge from a reliable source. It'll save you one of many headaches.

Yah, I just received my new Apexi boost gauge but unfortunately, the online store messed up my order and sent me the KPA version so I have to send it back for the PSI. Thanks for the info. :) eZ

If there is such a thing as an R1 boost guage. It is a coincidence that the gauge says R1. There was never a boost gauge produced by Mazda for the R1 car.

Hi,

As mentioned above, this gauge has R1 as the company's name/logo..not the R1 as in the RX-7 model name (R1, R2, Touring, Bathurst, etc). But yah, you're right...it was coincidence company name was R1. If it helps any, I remember the R1 logo looking like the "R" used on the Integra Type R emblem. I have seen only two of these gauges ever, the FD I'm currently looking at and the 240SX mentioned above.

Sounds like a low-end generic brand to me, but I may be wrong. G'luck with the FD purchase.

Yah, I figure so too. I hope after a couple visits with everything reporting back great, including turbos, compression,etc...the seller and I can work something out. Thanks for everyone's input. :) eZ

Could it be possible that it's from the company that makes R1 "racing wheels"? Is it the same logo? http://www.r1racingwheels.com/F_home.htm
