error codes
can someone remind me on how to check the error codes for a fd....i jumped the ground and ten pins in the diagnostic box but then my memory went blank.....not too surprising
thanks, jon |
You've got the jump wire correct, after you have jumped the TEN and GND pins, then turn the ignition to the "ON" position-Not to "Start", look at the check engine light on the left side of the steering wheel-the light will either go out and stay out or will start to flash in a series of sequences. If there is only one code the code will repeat, if there are more than one, they will go in order(numerically) with a short time interval between codes. Long Blink =10's( 2 long flashes=20, 3=30 etc). Short blinks =1's(2 short =2 etc) You'll need a code manual to decipher each fault code, or you can scroll back thru the forum under search and find a downloadable chart of all the engine codes.
Hope that helps out. Art |
Where's Engine check light on FD3s
I've been trying to trouble code my fd3s 1992 couldnt find the engine check light at all. so removed dash assuming bulb gone. No check light in the dash?
so when you've crossed gnd and ten terminal where do you see the flash code? |
A little off topic, but can you still check codes with the Power FC in this same manner? (TEN and Ground)

You should see the check engine light on when you put the key in the ignition and turn it to ACC. Here are a few shots of where the light should be located: http://mahjik.homestead.com/files/FD...t/MVC-002F.JPG http://mahjik.homestead.com/files/FD...t/MVC-003F.JPG Hope that helps... |
Mahjik,
Is that finish on your dash the 94-95 finish or is it something else? I've never seen a close up of the 94-95 but had heard that the interiors are textured, different than the smooth finish of the 93. Just curious. Frank |

Frank It's the 93 interior repainted with Metallic Black. It looks like a textured finish in pictures but it's actually clear coated and smooth. ;) I wanted something that was close to the stock black color, but just a hair different. The metallic flakes gave it just the look I was hoping for... ;) |
And yes, the 94 dash is textured

Can anybody tell me if the PowerFC will show engine codes? Frank |
