Error Code 27....

Ok. I know this is related to the OMP but want some opinions. Last year when I parked the car for the winter I was not seeing this error. Now when I drive it the light might come on and of course go into limp mode. This started the first day I took it out of hibernation. Would it be most likely be an electrical issue, possibly corroded connections somewhere? Or could the stepping motor actually be failing just from sitting? My quess is electrical but wanted other's opinions.

I plan on taking to a local shop to have it looked at but I don't want to get taken either. Those pumps aren't cheap. I looked through the workshop manual but I have no idea what those diagnosis tools are, vacuum job I can handle but electrical stuff.....

i got same code problem mate,,,,im working on all sorts of stuff,,,,but you can start by doing the simple electrical tests listed in the manual

thats the electrical tests listed for the,,, OMP sensor theres only 3 wires,,,some resistance checks and continuity checks,,,to make sure no broken wires#
ive gone as far as to strip down the pump,,,,but most of it is sealed and i dont think theres a lot you can do,,,,the sensor itself is a variable resistor,,,,but i dunno where you could get a replacment that would do the job

Did your car start doing this after it had set for awhile or were you driving and all of a sudden the error started appearing? Mine set for around 4 months and about 10 minutes into its first drive the light came on and I went into limp mode.

Where are the connections for the OMP? It goes from the OMP to where I guess is my question. I would like to check all the connections, starting with the easiest ones. :)

right,,,,my car is a different story,,,,i bought it with engine blown up,,so rebuilt and ect ect,,,this is the last thing to fix for me i think(hope so)

the connection is a big blck plug just near the alternator(behind it),,,if you haveing problems finding it,,,ill try sort you a picture

Definetly check the wiring, mine got clipped by the main pulley. At first it came on spiradicly, then it must have got clipped again and completly cut the wire. Spliced back together and fine ever since. The wires run from the OMP all around and behind the pulleys up to the alternator as stated.
Good luck

Well so far it actually appears to be my ECU. I had a Pettit one in there and swapped it out for the stocker and everything seems fine now. I will continue to drive it some this way to make sure but 45 minutes of driving and no error code is a good thing.

Now I just have to make sure I don't boost over 10. Wonder if Pettit can repair it or if they will work a deal since I already bought one...

have you tried putting the pettit ecu back in maybe the connection at the ecu was poor.
