Engine wiring harness/PFC install help please

Ive read through most if not all the wiring harness threads in my hunt to find an effective way to fix the crispy one in my car, and I ended up just buying a new harness from Malloy...and then a PFC.

So anyway, I pulled the old harness out, and was under the impression that you just un-plug it, and pull it through the hole in the firewall, and so started doing that. I get it most of the way out, and I come across 2 wires, a black/brown stripe, and a white/brown striped, that go from the wiring harness up under the dash somewhere. I have no idea what these wires go to, and one of them looked like it was just taped to the harness, not part of it. Now, I dont want to have to pull my dash out to find where they terminate, so I was hoping someone here had an idea? Anyone? Itd be much appreciated!

Are you sure those aren't the grounds? There are ground wires that are bolted to the ECU bracket. You also have the white and blue plugs that need to be disconnected.

Might want to snap a pic if you get the chance. I'm wondering if they're not stock wiring - that doesn't sound normal.

Thats the thing...I dont think they are stock either. Where ever the PO took this car to have the alarm installed jacked it up in places. They also ran the siren wire, and the hood sensor wire through the grommet for the ECU harness. Thing is though, these wires match 2 that are on the stock wiring harness, but yea, Ill go take a pic or 2, see if that wont help.

Ok, heres pic:

That's some aftermarket deal there. That's definitely not stock...at least not how mine was. Every wire was local right there including all the grounds. Anything extra on your dash? Gauges, etc?

Just a turbo timer the PO installed in the glove box that has power but has never worked (conflicts with alarm I think, alarm has remote start).

Can you tell me what position on what connector block they go to?

Yeah, definitely not stock. I'd wager it's wiring for the turbo timer - some tap into the speed sensor on the ECU and/or RPM sensor. I'd unwrap the wire where it's tapped into the ECU harness and disconnect it. Biggie is it's DEFINITELY not stock, so don't worry about cutting it.

Here is the larger of the two plugs. The black/brown wire splices into this one:

And here is the smaller plug. The White/brown wire splices into this one:

On a side note, I pulled all the unused wires out of my new harness when I got it, and rewrapped it, and that pin on the smaller plug was one of the ones pulled out. I think those 2 wires are for my alarms remote start system, but thats just an IMO. If so, I can just put the pin back in, and splice that wire back into the socket, no biggie.

Whipped out my handy-dandy shop manual :). The first pic with the large plug is just a ground for the ECU. The second pic with the smaller plug is the oxygen sensor wire. Is it an Apexi turbo timer? Those have the O2 monitoring feature. I think they also ground to the ECU to have a good ground reference for the O2 voltage.

Yep, just double-checked -

The Apexi turbo timer has a black wire going to the ECU for ground reference, and a white wire to the ECU for O2 signal. There will also be a gray wire going to the parking brake wire.

Awsome, thanks! And yeah, its an Apexi TT.
