Engine Torque Damper install

Okay got my engine torque dampers install after sittin in the garage for 3 weeks. As much as possible I move the bracket as far as I can so the dampener won't hit the ABS but it still does. It's pushing one of the lines 1/4 inch towards the firewall. I tried other positions that will work but the other position possible hits my hood which prevents me from closing my aftermarket hood. Have anyone encounter the same problem as I did installing this dampers? Will the ABS line hold or break?

Is it an RE brace? It may be because your motor mounts are severely worn. On the looser settings mine just barely grazes the rubber that covers the abs line.

It does seem to be the basic design (if not the same manufacturer) as those sold by Gotham which is where mine came from. But I had no clearance issues.

This is perfect timing for me. The torque bar is my next mod. What brands should I look at and which ones should I consider?

thanks,

quid

Did you redrill the three holes on the chassis mount? If not that's where problem is.

there is a more secure spot to stabilize the engine....from the alternator to the strut bar. if anyone is interested...you can check this out at: www.circusengineering.com

Can't you bend those lines?

I was having the same problems with my K2 brace, and I just mounted it upside down for it not to hit the ABS line. I think my engine mounts are very very bad.

I don't think the alternator bracket is going to stand up to long term abuse. The torque brace mounts far from the bracket bolts so the bracket is highly stressed. The bracket itself isn't strong enough IMO.

Circus Brace

Actually, that is incorrect...we at Circus created this product 5 years ago after extensive R&D. This is mostly used with our CIRCUIT customers but we do have consumers that are involved in the drag and drifting scene. We tested a lot of products from different manufacturers before we release our own original product. Its pretty much preference on the consumers of what companies products they choose to use...

Interesting brace..

I also have the ebay brace. However, I did add a washer to add a bit more clearance. My dampener is quite sturdy and has surprisingly good quality. It has not failed as of yet..

Did you get it from DelubozParts? It's like $69 there usually, and it looks EXACTLY like the one at Gotham.
