engine torque brace? worth it?

yo guys, i am lookin into an engine torque brace. can u tell me how u like em!!? what type of pressure arm is it , and do u think i could make my own if i have acess to a mill and some stock accord rear trunk struts....

You'll want something more than a trunk strut - those 'strut' looking braces are very very stiff. Just make it solid with rubber bushings or something.

There is no evidence that a "shock" type torque brace is effective. Solid, non-"pre-tensioned" bars with good pressure distribution and hard rubber bushings attached between a reinforced engine hoist mount and the interior fender flat have proven to be the most effective torque braces. There are plenty of threads on the subject but if you want more details PM me or go to my cardomain site and click on the engine torque brace page.

Yeah I think your wasting your time with shocks. They wear out, you need one FRUCK of a pre-load... I would just go solid with bushings, FEED style, etc....

You want something like an engine mount. It works like another engine Mount IMHO

where is a good place to get the one without the shock obsorber?

Yes it is worth it. Or you could get solid engine mounts.

or get both !!

vspecpgt 01-13-04 09:15 AM

haha ^^^ word.......just get both.... and a tranny brace, and a diff brace.... then you too can have a vibrating box!!!! haha

Rx7 Store has the CrispyRx7 design engine torque brace. When used in tandem with Rx7 Store's rear diff brace, and properly funtioning engine mounts, the driveline just feels so crisp and solid. Wheel hop is minimized greatly (I still get a hint of wheel hop when the LSD kicks in).
