Engine stutters, boggs then dies...sometimes---help?

Sometimes when I start the car up, the engine has a hard time settling down to a normal idle. After the car starts, the RPM's drop then sputter back up, then drops again and kicks itself back to life---and this cycle continues for a good ten seconds or so then idles somewhat normal. If I press the brake pedal down or turn on my lights during this time, the car will die out.

Any suggestions on what the problem is? Vaccum problem? Spark plugs? Accessory load? Anyone else encounter this problem?

Thanks in advance, Jason

I'll bet its a grounding problem. Personnaly, my car use to do the same thing, when I stepped on the brakes, my engine would cut out. had to trouble shoot all the positive connections but every thing was fine, I just happen to test the neg by putting a 2 gauge 0node from the battery straight to the chassie and it went away.

BTW: are you blipping your throttle when you start the car, even when you take out the aws system, it sometimes needs a quick little blip

good luck

P.S. whats yoru idle at?
