Clutch switch at the top of the clutch pedal. Buy a new one for like 15 bucks, or you can take it apart and replace the broken spring with a spring out of a ballpoint pen, or similar. I've fixed mine about three or four times now. It usually lasts seven or eight months at least.

I also thinked so but why doese it stall only when i put in a gear!
When the switch is broken the engine must also stall when i only push the clutch without a gear or not????

Could be your 1-2 switch on the trans.

I think the 1-2 switch lowers the rpm when you put it in 1st gear.

The switch is located on top of the trans next to your shifter.
I think you'd have to lower the trans to get at it though.

Don't know why it only does it when you put it in gear, but it does. That's exactly what happens when your clutch switch is bad. Mine wouldn't stall, but would idle rough only when I stuck it in gear. Seriously. It's at the top of the clutch pedal. Got nuts on both sides, locking it on the bracket. Unplug it, take it out. Bend the metal tabs up, and pull it out. See if the spring is broke, or if it's working. It's a simple switch that closes the contacts when you press in the clutch (I think, could be vice versa).

That used to happen to my old *old* isuzu trooper. I had to heel and toe the thing into gear. it went away after a few days of hard driving. That truck was quite odd- it ran better when i abused it.

EDIT: the truck had been sitting for a while before it came into my possesion (sp) and it would stall when ever the clutch was depressed.

Well, have you checked anything yet?

Mine was doing this 2 years ago and it turned out to be the O2 sensor.I dont know why but after they replaced it the problem stopped. It seemed to be the same situation, the car only stalled when I put it in gear. Hope this helps.

I have the same problem, Stalling when i put it in gear and AC and/or lights are on.
Without AC and lights it does not stall.

Was there any solution??

I would check the clutch switch first, and if that is not it, I would check the 1-2 gear switch, and NO you don't have to drop the tranny to replace it. It's pretty easy really.

Yep, did that today and it WAS broken. Replaced spring and now it seems to work ok..

Am going to test some more later, but first tests does not stall engine when lights+a/c and in gear anymore.
