Engine problem? Help please!

Hey, i recently took the car out for a ride and gunned it from a start. Everything seemed fine except at about 6500 rpm or so it felt like the car wasn't making any power. You can feel the 2nd turbo kick in then it kinda flatlines and doesn't feel like it's accelerating anymore. Only mods I have done is pettit racing intake and racing beat exhaust. I have a boost gauge as well, but I didn't look if it was still making 10 psi at that point, I completely forgot to look. Any diagnosis?

ON a car with a stock cat it's normal to bleed off a little boost after 6000rpm, which will show up as a bit of power loss from the strong pull you get at the 4500 transition.

Please tell me you did just start it, and then floored it. You did let it warm up first, right?

:pat:

Oh, of course I let it warm up, for at least 5 min. I would never do that to my car lol.

I had that problem for a long time when I still had my pre-cat. In addition, I found that one of the hoses had popped off the pressure tank, delaying actuation of the second turbo. I think the pressure tank hose was the main culprit. I am not completely sure, however, since I installed a DP and did the hose job (finding the detached hose) at the same time.

Oh ok. I dont plan on getting a DP anytime soon, but I'm curious to see if one of the hoses popped off the pressure tank. Where exactly is the pressure tank? Anyone have a service manual in pdf form?

It's the small black plastic tank just in front of the UIM. There are two hoses that attach to its left end. One end of the tank is held by one of the bolts that also locates the pipe from the turbos to the IC.

EDIT: There are some links to service manuals in the stickies...

Ok thanks a lot guys. I took a look at it and the one closest to me was completely on there, the one further back was still on there but looked like it started to come off. I pulled on it and it seemed to come off relatively easy, and released some air. I put it back on and zipped tied it and it feels a lot tighter on there. Even though I can pull it off, it's a lot harder than it was before.

Here's another thing i noticed. Most of the time i shut my car off, it makes like a pop sound from the exhaust like a last sec backfire. Should i worry about this?
