Engine over heating coolant fluid still full?
 

came out an coolent was on the ground took for a test an coolent was all over the passanger side engine. ther is no visiable leaks rips or tears. coolent resevor is still full an thers coolent in the radiator? plz help soory for my spelling.

I dont own a third gen. This is how i would go about it. Let her cool.down.some, not all the way since your going to start her again. Once she is warming up again be looking under the car to isolate leak. Gl.

System probably just needs to be burped if you've flushed the coolant recently, grab a lisle funnel from your local parts store and use it. The belching coolant from the passenger side is probably from the overflow tank. Hope this helps and best of luck.

did you eliminate the hose that goes from the throttle body , to the block ? if not check that hose , I was having similar issues and it ended up being a rotten coolant hose .

Did you actually see on the gauge that it over heated or are you just assuming that because coolant was leaking?

If it didn't actually overheat, your overflow reservoir may be too full. This happened to me once and it took me a little while to realize it.

i checked all of the lines an there is no leak if there was id see or hear it. I did however buy a new thermostat im putting that in tomorrow so well see how that turns out. Thanks for the help

My car did a similar thing the overflow would overfolw. It ended up beins the coolant hose from the ast to overflow bottle was bad. No physical signs of damage so I thing the hose was just old and when the car wiuld try and suck coolant back in the hose would collapse internally preventing coolant from being sucked back into the motor.

Even if there is no physicall leak, replace old hoses as they could still be damaged

ok sounds good other then that is there a detailed explenation on how to change the thermostat?

I used the fsm when I did mine, Im sure you could search for it as well. From what I remember disconnect upper radiator hose, unbolt housing (3 bolts?), remove thermostat and inspect it, install new OEM thermostat and gasket jiggke pin on top I believe, re install everything, re burp the system.

Refer to fsm its all there.

this hose is pretty obscured if you still have a leak after , just give it a check just incase
