Engine moved?
Ok so I took the car in to get the 3k hesitation with the Power fc checked and ended up putting the stock ECU back on the car and the hesitation stopped... Since I was at the garage I thought I should get the wheel alignment done too. Got the wheels aligned and moved the car back and parked it behind the alignment area... a car had to go out and my car needed to be moved so i tried starting the car and it would not start... it seemed like the self was not working properly so the shop told me they had a spare self that they could try on my car and they did... still the same the engine would not turn... on close inspection we noted that the Crank angle sensor was touching the wheel rather than having some space in between and the mechanics said that the engine has moved back?? Took the tranmission and the pully belts off and tried turning the engine and it does not move. The engine only has 120miles on it after a fresh rebuild.... The max knock that I saw on the engine was 22 on the power fc.... and it started instantly and was very stable the last time it was started to be moved out of the alignment bay??

My guess, and AFAIK the only way the pulleys can move rearward is if the thrust bearing has fallen down and got crushed/ruined. That would let the e-shaft move front to rear.

We have a car in the shop right now that had the exact some issue. The end spacer was installed incorrectly, detroying the thrust bearings, which then caused the thrust plate to crack and damage the stationary gear. While this was happening, the crank angle sensors were being hit by the trigger wheel, which altered the timing to the point of cracking the front apex seals. Those chips found their way to the primary turbo turbine wheel. The detroyed thrust bearing material made its way to every bearing in the engine.

If you can't turn the engine over by hand which is what it sounds like you did, it can't be good.

the 3k hesitation is from ground issues. there is also info on internet on how to fix that adding grounds.

Both the rotor housings are good. Both the rotors are good... all the iron housings are good.... all seals and rotor parts were intact except for one corner seal which came out broken... i spoke to the Mechanics at the garage and they told me that all parts came out intact even the thrust bearing but the stationary gear was damaged... I have attached pictures here... what could be the issue if the thrust bearing and everything else is intact? |
Looks like the damage caused when the thrust plate is put on wrong side down.
